Biography

Erica Wasserbach is a certified physician assistant and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the New York State Society of Physician Assistants, and the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. She received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and her Bachelor of Science in biology from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY.

Erica decided to pursue a career in medicine during her sophomore year of high school. She always loved science and how the information is constantly changing and being built upon with new research and discoveries, and medicine has the same dynamics involved. As a recent graduate, Erica is excited and eager to provide patient care and utilize the skills and knowledge she has accumulated during her studies and rotations. One of the main reasons she chose a primary care career path is because she has a strong interest in health maintenance and ensuring her patients stay up to date on their health screenings. Erica is also passionate about orthopedics, mental health, and women’s health.

Her favorite part of being a PA in primary care is the continuity of care that you have with patients and being able to see the progress in someone’s health and wellness journey. Erica believes treating the person rather than just the disease or condition and that each patient needs an individualized approach is most important. She thinks just because a treatment plan works well for one person, it doesn’t mean it necessarily is the solution for the next.

Erica says, “Healthcare is a collaborative effort – I like to focus on working with patients to make sustainable, gradual changes that better yield a long-term improvement in their health.” She loves seeing a patient’s personal health goals achieved through changes implemented as part of their collaborative effort to create a unique care plan that fits their lifestyle.

Erica is originally from the Capital Region area, specifically Niskayuna, NY. She has always wanted to practice medicine here and serve the community that has helped develop her into the provider and person she is today. Aside from caring for others, Erica enjoys reading, playing soccer, and running.
